Privacy Policy
Effective June 11, 2026
The short version
VeganSwap does its work on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. We never see your recipes, your searches, or anything about you.
What stays on your device
- Recipes and ingredients you import or type. Parsing, ingredient matching, and vegan substitution all run locally using a bundled ingredient model. Nothing is uploaded.
- Photo scans. Recipe photos are read with Apple's on-device text recognition. Images are not stored by VeganSwap and never leave your device.
- Saved recipes and history. Stored locally in the app's database on your device.
- Clipboard. If a web address is on your clipboard when you open the app, VeganSwap offers to import it. The clipboard is read only after you tap, never silently.
What leaves your device
- Fetching a recipe URL you provide. When you import a recipe by URL or the share sheet, your device fetches that page directly from the website you chose, like a browser would. There is no VeganSwap server in the middle.
- Purchases. The one-time purchase is processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate purchase receipts; this involves your purchase receipt and an anonymous app-install identifier, not your name, email, or recipes. RevenueCat's policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
- iCloud sync (optional). If you enable sync, your saved recipes are stored in your personal, private iCloud container, managed by Apple and readable only by your devices. We have no access to it.
What we don't do
- No advertising or ad networks
- No analytics or behavioral tracking
- No selling, sharing, or monetizing data: we don't have your data
- No accounts, so nothing to breach and nothing to delete on a server
Children
VeganSwap does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Since the app's design keeps data on your device, changes would only ever be about making this document clearer or covering new optional features.
